NNCAUK - Our History

Our History

The Nigerian Nurses Charitable Association UK (NNCAUK) was founded in 1998 by a group of committed and passionate Nigerian nurses and midwives. Their vision was to create a platform that would give a voice to the Nigerian nursing community across the UK, advocate for their professional growth, and foster a sense of unity and belonging.

From its inception, NNCAUK has operated as a not-for-profit organisation, driven by a relentless commitment to the advancement of Nigerian nurses and midwives both in the UK and Nigeria. In 2002, the association achieved a significant milestone by becoming a registered charity, solidifying its role as a trusted and impactful organisation within the healthcare sector.

Over the years, NNCAUK has grown into a vibrant and diverse community of over 500 members, including nurses, midwives, and health visitors. Membership is open to individuals of Nigerian origin or those connected through marriage, reflecting the inclusive and supportive ethos of the association.
